What we do

Development work, step by step

Tech pack and pattern

We work from your tech pack or build one from a physical sample: measurements, construction notes, seam types, elastic specifications and grading rules.

Fabric and trim sourcing

Three options per component u2014 a value option, a recommended option and a premium option u2014 with the price difference stated up front.

Fit sampling

Development sample in 5u20137 days, photographed flat and on a form, with a measurement table against your chart.

Comments and revision

One round of fit revision is included. Comments are consolidated so a change is made once rather than in four passes.

Grading and size set

A full graded size set in 10u201312 days, measured garment by garment, before bulk fabric is committed.

Production handover

The approved sample, size chart and fabric standard become the production specification, version-controlled and signed off.

Starting points

Three ways a programme begins

You have a sketch and a mood board. We turn it into a pattern and quote fabric options before sampling, so you can steer the cost early.

You have a tech pack from another factory. We review it for production risk and flag anything that will cause a problem in bulk u2014 usually seam allowance, elastic specification or a grading rule.

You have a product you already sell. Post it to us. We reverse-engineer the construction and quote against the identical specification first, then price the upgrades.

FAQ

Development questions

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our standard MOQ is 300u20131,000 pieces per style, mixed sizes. Styles using stock fabric can start from 300 pieces; a fully custom knit or dye lot usually starts at 1,000 pieces per colour. Tell us your target quantity and we will confirm what is achievable.

How long does sampling take?

A development sample takes 5u20137 working days after artwork and fabric are confirmed. A full size set takes 10u201312 working days. Sample cost is credited against the bulk order.

What is the lead time for bulk production?

Bulk production runs 15u201345 days from deposit and approved pre-production sample, depending on quantity, fabric availability and trim lead times. We confirm the schedule in writing before you pay the deposit.

Which payment terms do you accept?

T/T (30% deposit, 70% against the copy of the bill of lading), L/C at sight, and PayPal for samples. Terms are confirmed in the proforma invoice.

Can you handle fabric, labels and packaging as well?

Yes. Fabric knitting, dyeing, cutting, sewing, printing, embroidery, labels, hangtags and retail packaging all sit inside our own supply chain, so a single purchase order covers the finished, retail-ready product.

How do you control quality?

Every order passes an incoming fabric inspection, an in-line check at 30% and 70% of the run, a final AQL 2.5 inspection before packing, and a shipment check against the approved sample and packing list.

Do you charge for development?

Pattern development and sampling are charged at cost and credited against the bulk order. If the programme does not go ahead, the sample and pattern cost stands u2014 we do not try to recover development through a hidden margin in the unit price.

Design support that respects your brand

There is a line between helping a brand develop a product and quietly designing it for them. We work on the manufacturing side of that line: patterns, grading, fabric, construction and costing. Your silhouette, your graphics, your colour direction and your brand identity stay yours.

What a good tech pack contains

A tech pack does not need to be beautiful, but it needs six things: a flat sketch with seam and stitch callouts, a full measurement table with tolerances, a fabric specification with weight and composition, a trim list, a colourway sheet, and packing instructions. When any of those is missing we ask for it before sampling, because a sample built on an assumption is a sample that will be rebuilt.

Sampling rounds and how to keep them short

Most programmes use two samples: a development sample in a stock fabric to test fit and proportion, then a pre-production sample in the final fabric, colour and trims. Programmes that burn four or five rounds usually have unconsolidated comments — the fit change made in round two conflicts with the construction change made in round three. We collect comments in one table per round and require sign-off before the next sample is cut.

Costing during development, not after

Every development sample comes with a cost sheet: fabric consumption, labour operations, trims and packing, with the margin shown separately. That lets a brand decide whether a heavier fabric or a contrast trim is worth it before the first bulk order, rather than discovering at the second order that the product cannot be sold at the intended price.
